This page describes what this website stores on your device and which outside services your browser talks to. It is short because the site does very little.

Cookies

Birch River Horizon does not set cookies on this website. We do not use analytics, advertising, retargeting or social media tags, so there is no cookie banner and nothing for you to accept or decline. Third-party services you reach through the site may set their own cookies under their own policies (see below).

Local storage

On the planning tools page only, the checklist saves which boxes you have ticked in your browser’s local storage, under keys named check-0 to check-11 with the value true or false. This lets the ticks stay when you return. The data stays on your device and is never sent to us. You can remove it with the “Reset Progress” button on that page, or by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.

Outside services your browser contacts

Google Fonts

Every page loads its typefaces (Playfair Display and DM Sans) from Google Fonts. Your browser therefore connects to fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com when the page opens, and Google can see your IP address and browser details. We do not receive that information.

formsubmit.co

If you submit the enquiry form, your browser posts the message to formsubmit.co, a form relay that forwards it to our mailbox. Nothing is sent to that service until you press the send button.

Google Maps

The address links open Google Maps in a new tab only when you click them. Nothing from Maps is embedded in our pages.

Your choices

You can block third-party requests with your browser settings or an extension, although the pages may then look different because the typefaces will not load. To clear local storage in Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge, open the browser’s privacy settings and remove site data for birchriverhorizon.com.

Why there is no cookie banner

A consent banner is only useful when a site sets cookies or runs tracking that the visitor can accept or refuse. This site does neither, so a banner would be a button that does nothing, and we would rather not show you one. If we ever add analytics, advertising tags or any other tool that sets cookies, we will update this page first and add a real choice before the tool is switched on.

How you can check for yourself

Every modern browser lets you look at what a site has stored. In Chrome or Edge, open the developer tools, choose the Application tab and look under Cookies and Local Storage for birchriverhorizon.com. In Firefox the same information is under the Storage tab, and in Safari under Storage in the Web Inspector. On most pages you will find nothing. On the planning tools page, after you tick a box, you will find the check-0 to check-11 keys described above and nothing else.

What is not covered here

This page covers only birchriverhorizon.com. When you follow a link to an official body, to Google Maps or to any other site, you are subject to that site’s own cookie and privacy practices, which we do not control. Messages you send us by email are covered by the Privacy Policy, not by this page.

Children

This site is written for adults who are planning for themselves or for older relatives. It does not knowingly ask for information from children, and nothing on it is directed at them.

Records of this policy

Earlier versions of this page are not kept online. The date at the top always shows when the text was last revised, and the policy that applies to you is the one on this page when you visit. If you have a question about an earlier visit, ask us and we will answer as best we can.

Changes

If what the site stores or loads changes, this page and the date at its top will change as well.
